Cambridge Structural Database

installed at the Institute of Physics, Prague

This installation of CSD is available for universities, academic institutions and students in the Czech Republic. It is supported by its major users.

Computer

crysa.fzu.cz alias indy22.fzu.cz, operating system Fedora Linux, administrated by Michal Dusek.

Getting access:
By filling this online form or sending directly an e-mail to dusek@fzu.cz (which is actually what the on-line form does). Only universities, academic institutions and students in the Czech Republic are eligible for using this installation.

Requirements at the user side:
ssh client, capability to display X11 graphics (Unix workstation or X11 emulation)

User session

For UNIX workstation

  • Connect to indy22.fzu.cz by ssh. (Telnet and ftp are not available for security reasons)
  • Use database commands conquest or quest, save your results
  • The results can be copied out of indy22.fzu.cz using command line scp or two-panel file manager krusader.
  • logout
  • The results can be downloaded from indy22.fzu.cz by scp

    For PC with Windows

  • Connect to indy22.fzu.cz using some ssh client for Windows. For displaying the UNIX graphics an X-server for Windows must be running.
  • Use database commands conquest or quest, save your results
  • logout
  • If needed, download files from indy22.fzu.cz by an scp client for Windows.
Here is an example of Windows session with detailed instructions.
Note: the current version of Starnet X-win32 (commercial program for X11 emulation) contains direct ssh support. Starting Conquest through X-win32 is very simple.
